Going Forward

Have you ever been lost and called someone to ask them directions?

What is the first question they ask you in an effort to help?

Where are you?

To get to where you need to be, you must be willing to do two things:

  1. Start from where you are.
  2. Be willing to take direction.

I’m talking today to people who want to move forward in life.

Your present reference is important in moving forward. You must know that you have to leave the place you are to get where you are going. Now, this doesn’t always include leaving a physical place but it does at least require leaving behind attitudes and beliefs that are keeping you “stuck” in life.

I see many people who want change and many who ask God for help. Some don’t want to change established patterns that got them where they are. They simply want deliverance from the place they ended up.

You will end up back where you are if you don’t change what got you there in the first place!

Second, you have to be willing to take direction.

I have to say, we are a hard headed lot! We revolt at the idea of someone running our life!

I don’t blame you……..I don’t want any person running my life. But, eternally successful people do realize that they must learn to take direction from God Himself.

A nugget of wisdom that many never acquire?

I don’t know as much as I appear to!

Wise people – people who end up at a divine destination are people who depend upon divine direction. Sometimes, people try and give me accolades for where I am or for something accomplished. I know one thing that keeps me arriving at divine destinations:

I am not the One who is defining where I am going or the pathway to get me there! I live on divine direction!

So to move forward you must:

Admit where you are and be ready to ditch the things that got you there.

Be willing to take direction and act upon it.

Your life can change immediately. You don’t have to wait another minute. You can move beyond your current location in life. But, you can’t do it unless you embrace the wisdom that helps “lost people” hear the words we all like to hear from the voice on GPS:
