Psalm 133:1;3 – Behold, how good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! For there the Lord commanded His blessing–life forevermore.
John 14:2-3 – In My Father’s house are many mansions, if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
Mark 16:6-7 – But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him. But go, tell His disciples–and Peter–that He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him as He said to you.”
I heard a good word this weekend, given by one of our overseers, John Casto. The word was called, “A Place Called There”. I want to share some things that I gleaned from this word with you.
Notice the scriptures above:
*Where brothers dwell in unity, there God commands a blessing.
*Jesus is preparing a place there and believers will join Him.
*The angel told the women that Jesus was going ahead of His disciples into Galilee and there He would meet them.
There is something special happening in a place called “There”.
Something special isn’t happening “Anywhere” or “Everywhere” but it is only happening “There”.
To be sure you are going to be involved in what God is doing, you must be there when you are supposed to be.
Where is there?
The story was told about a chaplain who was called to visit someone who was dying. The person who was ill could barely speak. There was a lady in the hospice center who volunteered to lean down next to the ear of the dying lady and speak the chaplain’s words to her and then, put her ear next to the dying woman’s mouth to listen for her responses and “translate” those to the chaplain.
After ministering to the dying woman, the chaplain spoke to the woman who “translated” the message and said, “These promises apply to you as well”.
The woman was touched, and asked the chaplain to pray for her. Some time later, the chaplain received a message from the woman who translated the message. She told the chaplain how much God had done for her since that day in the hospice and shared her gratefulness for the chaplain’s words to her. The chaplain said to the woman, “Dear, you are very kind, but it is Jesus who should receive your thanks.” The lady said, “Yes, you’re right. But, you were there.”
It is important to be there. If you are not there, you cannot be used by God!
Think about this:
If you are not there in the place of prayer, you will not hear a word from God.
If you are not there in the house of God, you cannot be in place to be grow as God intends.
If you are not there when someone needs you, they will not receive help.
2016 is the year to be there!
It is time to find your place and get there! It is time to have your “antenna” up so you can be cognizant of what is happening in others and there, you can be used by God.
Here’s my simple question for you:
Are you there?
Anywhere is too broad. Everywhere is not realistic.
There, you can make a difference and God can make a difference in you!!!!
