Times are a changin’………….no doubt about it. It is important that we gain the perspective of the Kingdom of Heaven. Without the perspective of the Kingdom, we can be involved in fruitless and futile efforts. I don’t want to be expending a lot of energy on things that are not making a difference. That’s what I mean when I am speaking of the perspective of the Kingdom……..we need to be able to see from the perspective of the Throne of God so that our efforts will match the reality of the season we are in!
The infamous Supreme Court decision regarding same sex marriage has changed things in America and has opened a door for the sanctioning of all types of unions. But, the most important thing that happened was that evil was given a “throne of authority” from which to persecute the church. We will not see the full expression of that persecution at once; but, a precedent has been set – a stronghold has been created from which further attacks can and will be launched. But, as always, the devil has overplayed his hand!
When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will raise up a standard against him! (Isaiah 59:19)
What is Heaven saying about this? Remember: the perspective of Heaven is everything!
As I was praying over this entry, the Lord gave this simple Psalm to share with you. In it, we find the perspective of the Kingdom on what is currently happening.
Why do the nations rage, and the people plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying, ‘Let us break their bonds in pieces and cast away Their cords from us.’
He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; the Lord shall hold them in derision. Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, and distress them in His deep displeasure: ‘Yet I have set My King on My holy hill of Zion.’
I will declare the decree: the Lord has said to Me, ‘You are My Son, today I have begotten You. Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for Your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.
Now therefore, be wise, O kings; be instructed, you judges of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you perish in the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.
What is this telling us?
When satan attempts to usurp God’s authority, He is put in his place!
The gatekeepers of our nation have allowed satan to take a seat of authority through which he will pressure leaders until they give in to his desire to persecute and silence the church. Remember what happened in Egypt during the days just prior to the deliverance of the children of Israel. Moses went to Pharaoh to tell him that the Lord was saying, “Let my people worship Me freely!” Pharaoh refused, so God began a series of revelations called the Plagues of Egypt. At the beginning, Pharaoh’s magicians were able to copy the works done by God. This hardened the heart of Pharaoh and he not only didn’t allow the Israelites to leave but increased their oppression.
Satan’s pride and hatred has blinded him. He believes that since God’s people have gone through a season of pruning, they have lost power and he can oppress them into silence. As stated earlier, he has overplayed his hand and fallen into the trap of God! Just as in Egypt, God is going to judge satan through Divine revelation of Himself! He will be judged as inadequate and lacking just as he was in Egypt. You’ll notice that when I picked a picture of a hand of cards to go along with this point, I chose a hand of “aces and eights”. It’s a long story, but this is called the “dead man’s hand”. Satan is playing with a dead man’s hand and will be exposed for who he is: nothing compared to the King of Kings!
It’s time to “kiss the Son” of God!
There is still time for grace! But that time will not last forever. God is going to judge the false gods of “Egypt” and when He does, you do not want to be aligned with them! Just as in Egypt, terrible tragedy can occur in the lives of those aligned with anyone other than Yahweh. God’s heart is not judgment but deliverance – but to be saved, you must be in God’s house and under the blood! If you haven’t, its time to acknowledge the Lordship of Christ! He loves you and will do great things in your life!
Satan is holding the “dead man’s hand”; what hand are you holding?
