I recently was in Israel. While there, the Lord gave me some amazing revelation concerning what He intends to do in the days ahead. I’ve already begun to share with Capstone Church the things that God has been showing me.
Sunday, I shared with them one of God’s commands for this new season. This command is found in Luke 19:12-13:
“A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and to return. so he called ten of his servants, delivered to them ten minas, and said to them, ‘Occupy till I come.'”
The word “occupy” can be summed up in the term “be fruitful”. Jesus is telling His people that this is a season of fruitfulness for those who are fully committed to Him! Now, the word “occupy” not only tells us what God has for us in this season, but it also tells us how this fruitfulness is accomplished.
The biblical term “occupy” used by Jesus in Luke 19 means “to gain by trading or investing”.
So, God is saying that we are to be fruitful in this season and that fruitfulness will come by us using what God has given to us with the intent to see it bring increase to the kingdom of God!!!
The direction is to be busy obeying God and sowing into people what God has placed in our lives. The outcome is increase!
But, if we are to be successful at this endeavor, we must not forget a key component to our success:
When rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem, Nehemiah told the people the following:
“Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:10
It doesn’t matter what the Supreme Court has decided or what the Administration dictates, God has a plan in place for His people! It is a good plan; one which will see the desires of the enemy foiled and the children of God thrust right into the middle of harvest!
A successful season of increase requires two primary factors:
One, we must see things as God sees them and respond accordingly. This is not a season of sorrow for the people of God but a season in which we are to be fruitful by sowing our gifts into the lives of others. Focusing on the enemies’ movements will always make you sorrowful. It is time to focus on the word of the Lord and the victory that He has won! Don’t focus on the enemies’ attempt at intimidation – focus on the never changing word of God! This is our finest hour!
Secondly, fruitfulness will require Spirit led effort. We will need strength to finish what God has before us! The Bible tells us that the joy of the Lord is our strength. The strength that we need is the JOY OF THE LORD! It is HIS joy, coming alive in us! This joy will empower us to overcome every obstacle. This is not a joy dependent upon circumstances but a joy that is a product of Jesus’ indestructible life!
You are invincible until your purpose is complete! Look again at the book of Revelation: the people of God are victorious over the enemy!! Why should we walk around with our heads down; repeating news of doom and gloom?
Our God reigns!!!! All that has transpired in the last few weeks was already worked into the victorious plan of God!
So, rejoice in the Lord always! And again, I say rejoice!
The best days of Capstone and your best days are here! The season of increase is upon us!
Obey the Lord and expect Him to increase your labor of love. When He comes again to inspect our labor; to see if we responded as He directed, we will be found fruitful and worthy of the calling we have received!
Shout to God with the voice of triumph!!
